    Description

This amazing Capiz shell globe light is a recent estate find.
The box it was an old yellowed piece of paper in it with a decades-old note that said "Capiz Lamp South Seas" and that's all.
It measures about 18" wide and about 16" tall so it's a little squat, not quite a globe.
There is a trap door in the bottom to change out the light bulb.
There is one piece of shell near the bottom that has a break - see photo I point it out. Otherwise it's in fantastic condition. There's a cute little single shell tassel on the bottom.
It is dusty on one side and I haven't attempted to dust or clean it. If you look at the third to last photo in the slideshow you can see it is dusty.
When I acquired it, it had an approximately 10-foot electrical cord and a link chain on it. I disconnected the chain for safety sake but the chain is included in the sale.
I also disconnected half of the cord. There were two pieces of white cord that were joined together with electrical tape. In order to remove the chain I had to remove the electrical tape and thus disconnect the two pieces of electrical cord. The buyer can easily reconnect the two pieces of cord if the full 10-foot length is desired. (See the second to last photo.) Or cut the cord before reattaching for a shorter length.
At the end of the disconnected part of the cord there is a typical two-prong plug that says WALLHUGGER on it.
The little flowers on the shell pieces appear to be - not sure about this but I think - hand painted with white paint. The flowers are on the reverse underneath side of the shell pieces. (So inside the lamp)
This will most likely ship via FedEx so no P.O. Boxes.
    No shipping outside the U.S.
The chain will be shipped in a separate box.
Also available for local pickup in Boston.
    Thanks for looking.
