Sadly, these were removed from a Kentucky tobacco drying facility, (locally known as a 'backy-barn), in favor of brand new florescent lighting. Happily, they were passed on to me for recommissioning and placement into good homes.
If you didn't read the catalog page as you were looking at the pictures....you should.
Circa 1934, 19 inch Holophane Hibay Industrial Warehouse light. The hanging hardware consists of all "Top of the Line", Crouse Hinds and Appleton parts. The ceiling mount is made of cast iron and is a classic favorite. The cast-iron cushion allows for movement if struck, therefore minimizing any damage. It also reduces vibrations to the bulb extending bulb life.
The light was dissembled, cleaned and reassembled. The socket has been cleaned, inspected, tested, and re-wired. The sockets are in fantastic, like new condition.
The asbestos gaskets were removed and replaced with new, non-asbestos gaskets. Always check with your vintage light seller to make sure this was done as asbestos is very dangerous. (I see a lot of "restored" Lighting on eBay sporting asbestos gaskets).
The glass looks to be free of any defects, crystal clear and very thick.
The complete fixture with all parts weighs about 24 pounds.  Complete with hanging and swivel apparatus, the  light is 27" tall with the included 8" pipe. It can be easily made taller with a longer pipe which is very inexpensive. The diameter at the bottom of the light is approximately 19 inches.
These lights would be wonderful in a foyer or large room. I've also had buyers use them in car collection garages, museums and old barns. Your wonderful hand hewn beams can be subtly illuminated for all to see.
The following pictures are of the same type of light with the aluminum cover, available in a separate listing.
The above pictures are of the same type of light with the aluminum cover. I have several of these for sale...please inquire if interested
Light will be shipped in separate pieces to insure safe arrival; re-assembly is EASILY accomplished by purchaser. I will even include the wire nuts. I suggest that all electrical items be checked and installed by a professional electrician.
Please feel free to ask questions prior to bidding.
